I have over 22 years experience of helping students reach their potential in English. I am an experienced, qualified and exam board trained teacher with proven success as a Head of Department, Assistant Principal, Head of sixth form and most recently Director of English for a Multi Academy Trust.
I have a track record of designing interventions to help students achieve success and I specialise in exam preparation of both Language and Literature at GCSE and A level. I can offer one to one or small group tuition, online at a time that suits you.

ABOUT WM ENGLISH TUTORING
No matter what your future journey looks like, a strong educational foundation is key to your success. Learning can be challenging for many students and the recent pandemic has meant many students have fallen behind or lack confidence. I offer online tutoring and can offer tailor made sessions to suit you and your child. A sessions could be a one off coursework support meeting or regular hourly tutoring. Work can support the school curriculum or target gaps in knowledge and skills.
I work with all students aged 11 + and specialise in exam preparation for GCSE and A Level language and Literature. I have a large bank of specially written tutoring materials for all abilities and starting points.
I am happy to offer sessions to students who are currently being home schooled, are preparing for mock or real exams or who just need some support to improve from where they are now. I make all resources available after each session and can record each session so that they can be replayed at a later date if required. Parents are always welcome to sit in on any session and I will send an honest appraisal at the end of the booking.

GCSE AND A LEVEL EXAM PREPARATION
HOMESCHOOLING
These sessions are highly focused around exam board requirements and mark schemes. Developing a good exam technique is the quickest route to the next grade and well worth a small investment to achieve.
The one-to-one tutoring sessions are tailored around the abilities and experiences of each student.

Whether these are part of a longer term tutoring plan or are just a short session before mock exams, these sessions boost confidence and reinforce approaches to the questions that really work.
I am able to offer support for students who do not currently attend school. I can tutor pupils myself or work with parents or guardians who may be home schooling their children.
A LEVEL COURSEWORK
KEY STAGE THREE CATCH-UP
For students preparing for A levels, I offer coursework support to include helping to choose their titles for their Literature essays or their Language projects to reading, planning and making suggestions for the final draft.
The recent pandemic has left many pupils unfairly disadvantaged, with gaps in learning and a general lack of confidence. These sessions are highly tailored to your child's individual needs and can either support the school curriculumn or can be delivered as a bespoke program around topics that will engage your child.
